In this article, Chiang Kai-shek's speech in 1939 shows a lot of confidence in his country, China. He doesn't want Japan to take over China so he wants to fight back. He wants China to stay as it is and let his people gain more freedom. He says to take the Song and Ming dynasty for example because they didn't collapse because of opposing forces. Those dynasties collapsed because their dynasty wasn't working together and didn't have the high spirits they needed. Chiang believes that if China has high confidence in their country, they'll last longer.
